No Indian becomes less patriotic by learning English.

I READ Khushwant Singh's comment that the words of foreign languages that have found entry in the English language belittle the importance of this link language of the world. He states:"Neither the French nor the the Spaniards accepted words from other languages to enrich itself-it has over 10,000 words of Indian origin-and is today the most widely spoken language in the world." Actually,English has not 'stolen' words from foreign languages to enrich itself, but borrowed them to meet the needs of expression in day life in other countries. Now, for example, we have Indian English, American English, Japanese English and so on and so forth. The borrowing of words form foreign languages by English has provided beauty and color to it. In India English language has flourished more after the British left India. Now, It has found wider use than before. no, Indian becomes less patriotic by learning and using English in day-to-day life. We need to shed th
Holi is one of the most ancient festivals in India and was originally named 'Holika’. Celebrated throughout the country with immense zeal and fervor, Holi is also one of the most popular Indian festivals abroad. The celebrations of Holi differ from region to region, however the zeal and gusto with which the festival is welcomed throughout the country remains the same. It is often said that the modern form of Holi was introduced in Mathura and Vridvana by Lord Krishna himself and that is why Holi holds a special significance in the eastern part of the country. Read on this article to explore the origin as well as the history of Holi in the country. Holi has a detailed description in the ancient Vedas and Puranas such as ‘Narad Purana’ and ‘Bhavishya Purana’. The festival of Holi also finds detailed descriptions in the Jaimini Mimansa. During an excavation, a stone inscription of 300 BC was found at Ramgarh and this stone inscription has mention of ‘Holikotsav’ i.e. the ‘celebratio

WISH YOU HAPPY HOLI........................

Holi is the festival of color and joy. It is the day when the bright colors of Holi diminish all the discriminations of caste and creed in society. The colors of Holi also bring along with themselves the spirit of joy, naughtiness, passion and enthusiasm. The festival in itself is the celebrations of the divine love of Radha and Krishna as well as the commemoration of the fact that ‘Goodness always triumphs over evil’ and the verity that ‘Truth is always universal’. There is an eternal meaning of Holi beyond the ‘color play’ and ‘grand feasts’. History of Holi The exact origin of the festival can not be found, though several historians claim that the Holi celebration in the country was brought along with the Aryans. It is also quoted as a reason that Holi is still celebrated with great zeal in the more Aryan dominant Northern and Eastern India. There is also a detailed description of this festival in early religious works such as Jaimini's Purvamimamsa-Sutras and Kathaka-Grhya-Su

Inspiration and genius--one and the same.

"The wise man in the storm prays God, not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear." "Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life." "I believe God is managing affairs and that He doesn't need any advice from me. With God in charge, I believe everything will work out for the best in the end. So what is there to worry about." "We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and the oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."

Basics in Wireless WiFi................................

A wireless LAN (WLAN) is a set of network components connected by electromagnetic (radio) waves instead of wires. WLANs are used in combination with or as a substitute to wired computer networks, adding flexibility and freedom of movement within the workplace. Wireless LAN clients enjoy great mobility and can access information on the company network or even the Internet from the store, boardroom or throughout the campus without relying on the availability of wired cables and connections. The proposed standard 802.11 works in two modes: 1. In the presence of base station. 2. In the absence of base station In first case all communication goes through the base station known as the access point in 802.11 terminologies .This is known as infrastructure mode. In latter case, the computers just communicate with each other directly this mode is called as ad hoc networking. IEEE 802.11 denotes set of wireless LAN/WLAN standards developed by IEEE standards working committee (IEEE 802). Some

A COMPARISION BETWEEN JAVA AND C++

Java and C++ A critical comparison Software engineers are being forced to become multi-lingual. Any of you who have had the pleasure of creating a web site know this. Reading this article will be something like that. I freely swap between C++ and Java throughout. Those of you who are not familiar with Java need not fear, you will find the syntax to be very similar to C++. However, for serious readers, a Java reference guide might be a good thing to have nearby. Fortunately, the entire API for the current release of Java is on-line at www.javasoft.com/products/JDK/ CurrentRelease/api/. I want to make it very clear this is not a diatribe against one language or another. I happen to like both Java and C++ quite a bit. I have been a long time programmer in C++, and have just begun to program in Java. I find programming in Java to be a joy. But then, I find programming in any language to be a joy, even JCL ;-). This paper is simply a discussion of the differences in the two lan

A HISTORY OF JAVAscript

A Brief History of Javascript When the World Wide Web was first created in the early 1990s all web pages were static. When you viewed a web page you saw exactly what the page was set up to show you and there was no way for you to interact with the page. Being able to interact with a web page - have it do something in response to your actions - required the addition of some form of programming language to "instruct" the page how it should respond to your actions. In order to have it respond immediately without having to reload the web page this language needed to be able to run on the same computer as the browser displaying the page. At the time there were two browsers that were reasonably popular - Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. Netscape was the first to bring out a programming language that would allow web pages to become interactive - they called it Livescript and it was integrated into the browser (meaning that the browser would interpret the commands directl

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY:-----

So much has been said and sung of beautiful young girls, why don't somebody wake up to the beauty of old women Born at a time of great social turbulence and crisis, IWD inherited a tradition of protest and political activism. In the years before 1910, from the turn of the 20th century, women in industrially developing countries were entering paid work in some numbers. Their jobs were sex segregated, mainly in textiles, manufacturing and domestic services where conditions were wretched and wages worse than depressed. Trade unions were developing and industrial disputes broke out, including among sections of non-unionised women workers. In Europe, the flames of revolution were being kindled. Many of the changes taking place in women's lives pushed against the political restrictions surrounding them. Throughout Europe, Britain, America and, to a lesser extent, Australia, women from all social strata began to campaign for the right to vote. There were many different perspective&

People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Attitude Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. Attitude determines altitude .

7 March 1876 : Alexander Graham Bell patents the telephone On this day in 1876, 29-year-old Alexander Graham Bell receives a patent for his revolutionary new invention – the telephone. The Scottish-born Bell worked in London with his father, Melville Bell, who developed Visible Speech, a written system used to teach speaking to the deaf. In the 1870s, the Bells moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where the younger Bell found work as a teacher at the Pemberton Avenue School for the Deaf. He later married one of his students, Mabel Hubbard. While in Boston, Bell became very interested in the possibility of transmitting speech over wires. Samuel F.B. Morse's invention of the telegraph in 1843 had made nearly instantaneous communication possible between two distant points. The drawback of the telegraph, however, was that it still required hand-delivery of messages between telegraph stations and recipients, and only one message could be transmitted at a time. Bell wanted to improve o

Data Warehouse - An Introduction

A data warehouse is defined as a subject-oriented, integrated, nonvolatile, time-variant collection of data in support of management's decisions. More generally, data warehousing is a collection of decision support technologies, aimed at enabling the knowledge worker, such as executive, manager, and analyst, to arrive at better and faster decisions. Data warehouses provide access to data for complex analysis, knowledge discovery, and decision-making. style="mso-spacerun: They support high performance demands on an organization's data and information. It provides an enormous amount of historical and static data from three tiers: 1.       Relational databases 2.       Multidimensional OLAP applications 3.       Client analysis tools Several types of applications such as online analytical processing (OLAP), decision-support systems (DSS) and data mining are being supported.
